LANDSCAPE PLANNING IN THE
HARROP-PROCTER WATERSHED
The following are the three most important documents written on
the road to attaining our community forest pilot agreement.
They have come to form the blueprint from which we operate, and
will hopefully serve as a road map to other communities.
- The first step was to develop a comprehensive
plan that detailed exactly what we proposed to accomplish in our
watershed. We approached the Silva Forest Foundation one of the
most respected ecologically based forestry consulting companies
in the world, based in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia.

- The next step was the Harrop-Proctor Watershed
Protection Society
Community Forest Pilot Agreement Proposal. The following proposal
outlines the initial vision developed by the community and presented
to the provincial government.
