We produce high quality tight knot kiln dried flooring. We also manufacture limited amounts of flat grain clear Douglas fir flooring, depending on availability. Our flooring needs to be installed and sanded in place. After this your finish of choice is applied. Douglas fir has been used for hundreds of years in Canada, given its plentiful supply. It is durable, but not as hard woods like Maple or Oak. Customers should consider how heavy the usage will be when choosing their flooring material. Douglas fir is a visually warm wood, and will darken over time to a uniform reddish brown colour, adding warmth and character to your home
WOOD SPECIES AVAILABLE:
Douglas fir, Western larch. Both species are on a special order basis. Small volumes often in stock
- Actual sizes are 3/4 x 3 1/4, 3/4 x 5 1/4, and 3/4 x 7 1/4
Custom sized flooring can be produced on a special order basis. This can be useful if a match needs to be found for an exiting pattern. Care must be taken to insure the match interchangeable.
As our business is also located in the Harrop Procter watershed, we do appreciate the care that is taken not only around manufacturing, but also in the process of timber harvesting in the Harrop-Procter Community Forest. They are truly leading the way by integrating water protection, ecostystem based forest management and wood product manufacturing into a healthy business model.

North Mountain and its clients support the values that drive Harrop-Procter forest management decisions. Their staff and delivery service are great, and they stock a variety of products that are not available in conventional hardware stores. This is a great resource.
