About Us
HARROP-PROCTER TODAY
The Harrop-Procter Community Co-op is located in the heart of Procter's bustling one block long downtown, in the Old Procter Schoolhouse. It shares the schoolhouse with a bake shop, eco friendly gift shop and massage studio and hair salon, making it a part of the community's centre of activity.
On any given day, Procters three heritage buildings
may resonate with the Seniors Coffee Club, a yoga class, a
planning group for the Kootenay Story Telling Festival, as well
as the Forestry Co-op.
Despite it's remote location (about 45 minutes from
Nelson, the closest major centre) visitors from around the globe
are often found in and around the schoolhouse.
During a typical week, for instance, you may meet
some visiting Russian botanists, a university research student,
or a local reporter. Perhaps you might have coffee with the head
gardener for Sunshine Bay Botanicals, or a logger in to sign his
contract.
